Supply Reel
The supply reel has an adjustable friction clutch to assure the supply reel does not spin too freely causing of the supply carrier to unwind. 3 Inch - components are supplied on reels with a 3-inch inner diameter core. 6 Inch - components are supplied on reels with a 6-inch inner diameter core.
Rewind Reel
The liner waste rewind reel takes up the bottom liner after the components have been removed and placed. The rewind reel is required to assure the waste liner does not jam in the machine.
Peel Edge Stripper Assembly
The peel edge stripper plate reduces the chance of die-cut components conveying into the drive mechanism pinch rollers. It mounts beneath the peel edge and strips any components from the liner that may pass beyond the peel edge. This option is recommended for most applications because it is a difficult and time-consuming effort to remove components from the drive mechanism.
Flangeless Mounting
Flangeless mounting indicates that the vertical mounting surface at the bottom of the 1515 is not present. Mounting is accomplished by tapped holes midway up the machine’s main back plate. This provides an additional 1.25 inches of clearance under the machine when necessary.
Mounting Foot
The mounting foot provides a horizontal mounting method for the 1515. It also provides a small amount of mechanical adjustment for machine positioning in the same axis as the liner travel.
Clean Room
The clean room option reduces the chance of contaminating the target part with particulates from the placement machine. The clean room configuration indicates the air valve exhaust ports are connected together for porting to an outside vacuum system. The pneumatic cylinders have vacuum collars around the shafts and the bearings are constructed from stainless steel. This option does not address any particulates generated from the die cut components themselves.
Tape Out Sensor
An optical sensor mounted at the input of the placement machine indicates when the supply reel is empty. This sensor is not wired into the placement machine's control system. The sensor is useful when the 1515 is integrated into other automation and can be wired into its control system.
Nickel Peel Plate Kit
The nickel peel plate kit is located underneath the liner opposite the component sensor. The nickel plating is very reflective with a mirror finish. If the liner is clear, many times the sensor can ‘sense’ the components more reliably when using a nickel peel plate kit.
