Customer Value

Do your customers value what you think they do? Many companies think they know the answer to this; but it is the most successful companies that truly understand why customers buy their products. I once saw us lose an order because we didn’t use Allen-Bradley PLCs to control our equipment. We have

even sold machines to Allen-Bradley who didn’t have this requirement. Our failure in this case wasn’t having the wrong controller on the machine; and just asking the customer what they need doesn’t always work. The trick is to match the core expertise of the company to the customer’s needs, and to answer questions about needs effectively the customer will need to learn a great deal about your core expertise.

This is perhaps one of the greatest uses of the internet today. Companies that understand their customer’s needs put lots of information about their products and capabilities at the world’s fingertips. Companies who do not understand merely give a general profile of their capabilities for fear of giving away intellectual property. Today’s marketplace moves so quickly that intellectual property has taken a back seat to the ability to deliver something the customer wants, and that shows in the information companies are willing to share on their websites.

At AccuPlace we realize the challenges and the benefits in giving our customers an understanding of our capabilities. We have chosen to create a comprehensive website showing how our machines operate and giving numerous application studies so our customers can draw parallels to their own projects and get an idea of what the solutions will look like. On the surface it may seem counter-intuitive, but the internet is a great tool in helping to figure out what customers value.

What to Consider When Applying Pressure Sensitive Labels to Diagnostic Devices
Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) labels are a good option for labeling rapid diagnostic devices for point-of-care testing. Diagnostic devices, such as triage test devices for diagnosing cardiovascular conditions and single-step drug-screening devices, usually consist of a housing, one or more test strips, and a PSA label. OEMs who make such devices with PSA labels should always consider ways to standardize manufacturing to increase processing accuracy, reduce costs, and maintain quality. Why Hot Designs Need a Stronger Bond
The success of today's consumer electronics stands and falls with their design and functionality. Handheld devices increasingly provide more features such as hard drives, radios, and digital cameras. Also they include more sophisticated design components such as mirrors, aluminum bezels and steel name plates on plastic housings. As is always the case, size is everything: the device is getting smaller and smaller, with the expectation of increased durability.
