Sophisticated Simplicity

by Mike Terry
Global Sales Manager

Albert Einstein said it best “Make things as simple as possible but no simpler”.  In today's factory automation simplicity is in; complex is dead.  This may sound like oversimplifying a complex problem, but we’ve discovered that equipment users yearn for simple machinery.  Introducing our latest machine the Ævo, our goal was to present a simple solution to the complex problem of accurately printing and applying a label.  The key was to hide the complexity of the challenge behind an interface of simplicity.  Offering easier configuration, reduced programming time, greater flexibility, and superior multi-tasking functionality we strove to keep human intervention to an absolute minimum.  As our customers you are the ultimate judge of our success.  Please give us your feedback as we strive to improve the user experience with our equipment.  Just be advised, keeping a design simple is hard work.

Why Most Applicators Don't Work - And What To Do About It

Whether you are an OEM, an ODM, or an EMS provider - it is almost a certainty that you use labels and film adhesives.  The broad based acceptance of labeling and film adhesive show no sign of deteriorating, however, many organizations are left frustrated by the applicators chosen to automatically apply these very same components.

Nine Factors to Consider When Selecting Barcode Labels

Consumable media is a critical component of your printing system. Having the correct labels for your application can improve accuracy, lower material handling costs, and make your warehouse operation more efficient. With that said picking out the right labels can be a difficult procedure. But, if you remember the nine letters in B.A.R.C.O.D.I.N.G. you shouldn't have a problem.

Traceability in Laboratories: Vial Labeling
Whether in medical device manufacturing or in laboratory environments: high standards are required when it comes to product identification – the use of barcodes or other unique product identifiers is oftentimes mandatory. AccuPlace introduced AEvo at the MDM West show in Anaheim, CA in February, demonstrating printing of barcode labels and applying them accurately onto vials. The application itself, as well as the sophisticated design and the functionality of AEvo, was very well received. We have created a video of this application which can be viewed on our website: AEvo vial print and apply_0001.wmv. To receive a CD with this video, please send an email to:guni.bermudez@accuplace.com.

Mastering Space Constraints in PCB Manufacturing: Print & Apply of 3 mm Labels

With electronic devices becoming smaller and smaller, the components within these devices are challenged to do more functions in a smaller area. At the APEX show in Los Angeles in February, AccuPlace introduced together with Identco a solution to print barcodes or product information onto a 3 mm x 3 mm label, and place it accurately ± 0.002"/0.05 mm. The demonstrated equipment 'AEvo' is programmable to run zero-queue. In addition to this exciting application, AEvo's simple operation, easy setup as well as its small foot print encountered lots of interest at this show. We have created a video of this application which can be viewed on our website: AEvo 3 mm label print and apply.wmv. To receive a CD with this video, please send an email to: guni.bermudez@accuplace.com.

AEvo sales pick up shortly after its introduction

With AEvo presented in February 2007 at tradeshows and to customers, sales are picking up rather quickly. " We find interest in both printing applications as well as pressure sensitive adhesive applications", stated Mike Terry, Global Sales Manager. " The machine unifies sophistication in design with a simplicity in the user interface, and is very easy to operate." Contact your market segment manager or send an email to sales@accuplace.com for more information.

AccuPlace exhibited at AIAG Auto ID Conference in Novi, MI, April 18, 2007
